I’ve been in the coffee industry for over a decade now and got the idea to start a mobile business in late 2020. Some of my best memories have been made while sipping coffee, sitting across the cafe table with a friend, or sharing beans from my favorite local coffee roaster with loved ones on the other side of the country. How amazing would it be to give that gift to people in their offices, at conferences, at their wedding, or at a party?
So my partner, Josh, and I built Bloom Coffee Cart by hand in my parents’ garage. I was pretty clueless about materials and plumbing, building a business, and getting it off the ground, but my passion for coffee and a strong desire to build something bigger than myself fueled me.
I learned about coffee, coffee science, and other barista tools at various barista jobs in college and it just stuck. But for most people, coffee is something much simpler – it’s a part of their daily routine. I love being a bright part of someone’s day, whether that’s with a delicious latte or a thoughtful conversation. I love serving people of all different ages, races, sexualities, identities, and backgrounds. To be able to take something as routine as coffee and use it as an opportunity to learn about people, ask them about their day, and make a simple human connection, is a gift.
With Bloom Coffee Cart, I want to cultivate just that: A culture of acceptance, connection, and community. I want every drink to taste like it was thoughtfully made by a loved one, and every interaction to be as comforting as chatting with a close friend. I hope that through Bloom, we can all reap the kindness that we sow and that kindness will just keep on growing.
